Overview
As an independent contractor and consultant, I work with clients to identify their software and analytics challenges, provide strategic technology guidance and oversight, advise on federal technology strategy, and/or personally build software that sustainably solves their analytics needs.
Strategy
As a strategist or supervisor, I am able to:
● Engage with clients to understand their challenges and formulate a strategy for efficiently addressing those needs. Often the client knows they have a pain point that could be removed by a smarter approach, but doesn't know exactly how to frame their challenge.
● For internal software teams, provide strategic guidance on building reusable processes to prioritize features & DevOps goals, release frequently, track progress & deliver on schedule, effectively hire & contract, and build a learning organization incentivized to improve.
● Ensure that the solutions and processes implemented are sustainable, and that the organization can maintain them without dependency on me as a contractor.
● Understand the unique challenges of contracting for federal software projects and strategies for proposing and delivering high-quality, user-first software.
Implementation
I also personally build software tools that solve pressing problems relating to data and analytics, with a particular focus on energy efficiency and clean energy. As a "full stack" data scientist, I am able to:
● Independently develop and implement a solution to clients' data challenges (using Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL, etc).
● For features integrated into existing software, I deliver the results in a series of pull requests. For an independent application, I package the product so that it's easy for the client to run independently, with live-updating results that gather the freshest data.
● Document and report on the solution so that clients are fully-informed about the approach taken and the results of the work.
